Disrupting initiative for Environmental Trade Fair in Europe: RemtechExpo DIGITAL EDITION

Innovating what we already have or doing something better, breaking the mold is one of the challenges we face every day. Predicting what happened in 2020 was impossible for most, and impossible were the many activities and challenges that we have faced in recent months.

The impact of COVID-19 on the Environmental Trade Fairs sector is really hard. Main European Events took different decisions, IFAT Munich has been postponed from May to September 2020 and then canceled. Some other events decided to confirm their dates but they would face a lot of uncertainties:

1. Difficulties to travel between continents and between countries (fewer flights, difficult VISA)
2. More expenses to keep the EXPO buildings safe (it depends on the country's guidelines)
3. Fewer exhibitors, (because some companies can't risk the great part of their vendors get COVID-19 and many other reasons...)
4. Fewer visitors (with quarantine needed at their arrival or coming back to their country or region)

All those uncertainties are increased by the possibility of a second massive wave of COVID-19 in autumn and imagine some cases discovered inside an event...without getting too alarmist, it would mean to recall all people that get in close contact with those affected, control them, and in case, to put them in quarantine. VERY BAD.

RemtechEXPO decided to make a unique choice: it would be able to replicate the dynamics also to make companies carry out online business activities. It focused on recreating the logic of trade fairs, business meetings, and conventions. It is not a question of recreating human contact between people online because that is impossible (for the moment at least). It is a question of replicating the experience. Could online be the way to recreate an experience that until now had been mainly physical? Remtech, with the help of Botika (credit to Diego de Simone), recreates the professional experience to meet customers from all over the world, a platform in which a semantic artificial intelligence engine has been integrated.

The platform is named Meeters (“meeter” - person who is present and participates in a meeting) was born. It can complement a physical fair, or replace it in certain circumstances, creating online business events to allow more people to connect remotely and meet to do business. So the first world platform on environmental and territorial issues that will take place from 21 to September 25, 2020.

MATCHING

The system provides the visitor with the experience of being able to come into direct contact with buyers or other visitors to network. You will be able to search for both companies and other visitors for networking activities. By visiting the exhibitor's stand you will be able to see the team members and contact them directly.

THEMATIC CHATS - APPOINTMENTS and FAVORITE USERS

There are business chats and chat cafes. If the visitor enables video chat, chat or voice-call, the owner can contact him directly in person. The visitor will have the list of appointments that he will make with the people of his interest and all the conversations he has started saved for being resumed at a later time. You will be able to bookmark both companies and individual members of each stand as well as visitors of your interest in networking.

EXHIBITOR BOOTH

The booth is a showcase that allows companies to present their products or services with interactive catalogs and videos. From the booth, you can manage the appointments of your own commercial task force.

CALENDARS

At each booth, there will be the possibility for the visitor to book appointments with the booth team according to the times he prefers or to select the person of his interest and see his available slots.

WEBINAR

The platform offers the possibility to organize congress events, “fair plenaries” and webinars for exhibitors. There are event calendars with access links and once the event is over the link will refer to your registration to be able to review it at a later time.

VISIT STATISTICS

Exhibitors have the statistics of visits to their stand and can have visitor data. Visitors see the list of trade show attendees to be able to do targeted searches based on their networking preferences.
