Disqualified even before you spoke with anyone?
Gotta say, I am still seeing people out there not follow basic directions.
I know it sounds bad, but HR processes are put in place for a reason.
When you finally connect with someone via email or LinkedIn, why risk being put on the back burner?
Follow the instructions given.
When you don't, you are passed up for those who do, especially with companies that are dealing with HIGH volume!
I just had someone ask me for my email address when I asked him what his availability was for a conversation.
Of course, I gave it, but running around outside of the parameters of how people organize their day when they are dealing with high volume is RISKY!
Why delay a conversation by trying to skirt around process when you are already in process?
I just don't get it.
If you have dealt with this before, please share your experience in the comments.

Looking for employment is a full time job in its self. I don't need to spend any more time filling out on line applications if the job is no longer available

There often seems to be more concern around being original, but screening applicants is about how well you follow directions, follow the lead and follow through. I say, don't worry about being original; you will be if you actually follow all the directions through the screening and interview process. You want to be noticed...yes...but, not for changing the rules, creating your own directions or simply ignoring them. Think of this process as a test of how effective you are and your attention to detail. Are you an active listener and how are your communication skills? Even though it may feel as if you are speaking with no one, someone is there...paying attention, listening to your answers and seeing how you follow steps. It's sort of like the Tooth Fairy...you can't see them but they're there and if you don't leave your tooth under your pillow, you won't get that dollar(s). You wouldn't take that chance with the TF, why do it with the job you really want? Just a thought... ??♂?

I follow instructions completely. I have an amazing resume, that was carefully made by the owner f a highly successful marketing company. I am a highly skilled sales professional and know how to sell my self to these potential employers. I feel I am getting denied because most companies fear a strong, confident woman in a leadership position. They also want to pay way less than what I am worth. I know my worth and know what I have to offer the right company.
