Disputing a Chargeback Related to Advance Shipment Notification

Who is this for:

  • This is intended for vendors who have access to Vendor Central and need to dispute chargebacks specifically related to Advance Shipment Notification (ASN).?
  • It is relevant for vendors who have received chargebacks for non-compliance related to Carton Content Accuracy and ASN Accuracy.?

Objective:

  • To provide vendors with a clear process for disputing chargebacks related to Advance Shipment Notification (ASN) in Vendor Central.
  • To inform vendors about the specific documentation requirements for each type of chargeback related to ASN, ensuring they provide the appropriate evidence to support their dispute.


1. Navigate to the "Reports" tab on the top menu of Vendor Central, and select "Operational Performance" from the drop-down menu. 2. On the top page, click on the "View All" link to go to the chargeback in detail page. 3. Locate the non-compliance related to Advance Shipment Notifications (ASN). Choose from the following two options: - Carton Content Accuracy - ASN Accuracy 4. On the next page, select the chargeback(s) you want to dispute and click on "Dispute" button.

5. Fill in all necessary information in the "Dispute Summary" text box, explaining your reasons for disputing this Chargeback and why you don't agree with Amazon's assessment that this is non-compliance. 6. Attach the required documents to support your dispute by clicking "Add Attachments" beneath the "Dispute Summary" text box. Locate each relevant document and upload it to the dispute. 7. Click on the "Submit Dispute" button located at the top right side of the page to submit your dispute for these types of Chargebacks. ?

Important notes to remember:

  • You can only dispute a Chargeback twice. If a Chargeback has been disputed and rejected twice, it is no longer eligible for dispute.
  • You have 30 days from the date the Chargeback was raised in Vendor Central in which to dispute it.

Documentation Required for Disputes of Chargebacks Relating to Advance Shipment Notifications (ASN):

  • For Carton Content Accuracy Chargebacks:
  • For item labels on case packs/master packs, provide clear images that show a face open carton, inner packs, and individual sellable units of the ASIN. These images should illustrate how the items are packed inside the carton for shipping. Ensure that all barcodes are clearly visible in the images.
  • For wrong items received compared to the information in the ASN, provide a clear image of the barcode for the missing item.
  • For ASN Accuracy Chargebacks:
  • Provide a screenshot of the ASN in Vendor Central, or
  • Provide a text copy/XML of the EDI 856 transmission that shows the ASN was submitted before the shipment was received.
  • In case of a missing expiration date, indicate the type of carton-compliant labels used (SSCC/Barcode Packing slip/GTIN14/AMZNCC).
