Continuing the growth of the Post Office as an agnostic PUDO network in the UK, the Post Office has signed a new partnership with Evri which marks the first time that consumers will be able buy end-to-end delivery from a carrier other than Royal Mail in its 360-year history. Ground-breaking stuff.
As part of La Poste’s retail investment strategy, €300m will be dedicated to ‘the modernisation of digital solutions’, installing self-service stations and 24/7 automated pickup lockers to facilitate self-service.
Less than a month after Instabox revealed their merger with Budbee, under the name Instabee, Instabox has announced bankruptcy in the Netherlands. This announcement came as a surprise, citing old debts from Red Je Pakketje as the source, which Instabox acquired in 2021. DHL has since swooped in to acquire the assets including nearly 1,000 “parcel safes” around the country.
PostNL plans to open its locker network to other carriers in 2023, while expanding from 400 lockers to 1,500 by 2024. How much additional volume this move will drive remains to be seen, but it’s encouraging to see more posts adopt the agnostic model to increase overall efficiency.
