Amazon makes key changes in returns

Amazon is rolling out a warning label on frequently returned products on its website, designed to make consumers think twice before purchasing and ultimately decrease the number of returns. In addition, the retail/logistics giant has also introduced a?$1 fee for returns made to a UPS store?when there is a Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh grocery store or Kohl's closer to the shopper's delivery address, incentivising consumers to drop off more returns into Amazon’s owned network.

Royal Mail offer to union accepted by leaders,?new redelivery policy announced

CWU leaders seem optimistic about selling the deal to members who felt they were making a “last stand”, but concerns remain that Royal Mail’s modernisation program has been set back amid continual losses for the business.?Posties will also now by default attempt redelivery on the next working day for failed home deliveries, rather than consumers coming out to delivery offices to collect failed home delivery parcels.

Last Mile Experts Green Last Mile report released

LME’s wide-ranging report features data from operators like InPost, Swipbox and Quadient, as well as consumer surveys and analysis of municipal regulation and changes to last-mile deliveries. The report makes several statements on emissions reductions provided by OOH delivery, from ~60% reductions all the way to claiming that 91% of emissions could be cut.

Quadient adds 2 new partners to UK open locker network

APCOA and Rontec are the latest companies to partner with?Quadient on its agnostic locker network in the UK.?These new partnerships represent more than 1,000 new potential sites for the ambitious network which aims to have 5,000 lockers on the ground -?although current installation numbers are hard to source.

Austrian Post responds to customer demand for more 24/7 pick-up options

As part of a pilot operation, Austrian Post is set to launch 16 new self-service locations in G?nserndorf, including pick-up stations, HOFER post offices, self-service branches, and a new locker solution. In addition, Austrian Post also will open its self-service stations to other regional providers.
