If a patient complains of decreased sexual excitement or arousal, most practitioners will run a lipid profile and fasting blood glucose assessment to identify any unrecognized systemic condition that may indicate the presence of vascular disease. Patients who are candidates for androgen supplements should have their androgen levels measured.
