Discussion on Changes, Growth, Improvements.
DNetizenS talks about how supporting each other can uplift growth on Women's Day, 2022.
?8th of March is a day of reflection rather than celebration. A reflection of inequality, lack of women's rights, better working conditions, and extraordinary acts of women and to stand together. Bias, whether deliberate or unconscious, makes it difficult for women to move ahead.
As the theme of our celebration states, "Women of Tomorrow" we shared our experiences, highlighted the issues, the path to success, and encouraged each other for a better tomorrow.
Despite national conversations about gender diversity in tech, women are still underrepresented, underpaid, and often discriminated against in the tech industry, numbers show.
1. Only about 25% of GAFAM's employees are female.?(Source: Statista)
2. 71% of women have worked in a tech company with a strong "bro culture. “?(Source: TechRadius)
3. The ratio of men to women in engineering is 5:1.?(Source: TechRadius)
4. Only 37% of tech startups have at least one woman on the board of directors.?(Source: SBS)
5.?Only about 25% of jobs in technology are held by women in 2021.?(Source: Built-In)
We might have thought that there would be gender equality in technology by 2022. Unfortunately, women in tech statistics show that women in this industry are still grossly unrepresented. Women only hold about 14% of software engineering and 25% of computer-science-related jobs.
Moreover, studies show that the number of female software engineers has gone up by only 2% in the last 21 years.
Discussing the better tomorrow, we’ve covered below:
Gender Equality
Investing in women’s economic empowerment is key to achieving women’s rights and gender equality. Economies grow when more women have access to better opportunities. Equal contributions in household work, parenting, and responsibility after marriage can be a small change that can matter a lot in the long run.

Increasing access to education can also contribute to women’s economic empowerment, especially in our digital economizing. Yet, women still have access to fewer opportunities than men. That may be in terms of education, employment, opportunity, leadership, and pay scale.
Women in IT
Being self-aware and self-confident in every field is important. We are now in the 21st century and people’s attitudes have changed a lot to roles ‘only for men’ or ‘only for women, not only at a professional level but also at the family level. However, in the IT industry, we still feel the difference of being a woman in this domain.?
Over the period changes, the circulation can be seen in universities, how people see and judge women trying to mark their degrees in the technology field, how people perceive women working at night shift, how people support women entrepreneurs trying to be independent, and financially strong.
At DNS, we believe in women's empowerment and leadership. Opportunities for men and women are the same, the only thing we measure is the skill and knowledge of the individual, no matter what gender they are.
Seetal Bhattarai (HR) believes, "Feminism is equality neither more nor less."
Leadership
Nowadays there are indeed more women working in every field, but there are still not so many women in key positions playing the role of decision-makers. As, just 10 countries have a woman Head of State, and 13 countries have a woman head of Government. We believe here we can clearly see/feel the imbalance. But proudly we can say that currently, at DNS most of the departments like Finance, Management, Marketing, Data Analytics, SOC, Admin & HR are led by women.
Having equality in political leadership, classrooms, corporate boardrooms, factory floors, and decision-making from village to city will make the earth a great place to be!
How the upcoming generation can be a year of championing women?
Since we have been talking about women's rights for ages, we are making the changes but slowly. The existence and experience of today's women will transfer the knowledge to their children be it a boy or a girl. The upbringing of the upcoming generation will be different because boys will also be taught how to cook, and a girl will be taught how to be a leader.?
When one woman helps another, amazing things can happen. Professional careers leap forward. That's what Women in Technology are all about. We understand the unique challenges you face. With the celebration of women's day for this year, DNS is thrilled to announce the initiation of a Period Leave Policy for our fearless and strong women. We believe letting women take time off during the menstrual cycle will make the workplace more efficient and creative. Since we spend more time at our organization, it should be the happiest and most understanding place you would want to be. DNS is just following the path, where women should feel understood, valued, and celebrated.
