Discussing Your Tech Stack in Employee Reviews - Why It Matters

Discussing the technology used during employee reviews is a great way to encourage development and identify opportunities for improvement. In this newsletter, I’ll discuss 3 reasons why discussing your tech stack in employee reviews is a game changer. This really matters.

Reason #1: To Make Sure Employees Are Being Efficient

Recruitment Technology is designed to make day-to-day tasks easier and give Consultants a competitive advantage, which is why it’s important to make sure your employees are taking full advantage of the tools available to them. During employee reviews, discussing the tech stack can help identify any areas for improvement or uptake and ensure that each employee is making the most of the technologies available to them.

To assess an employee’s efficiency with technology, try discussing these points. What technology is most useful to them and why? Are they taking full advantage of the tools and features available on each piece of technology? Are they utilizing automation to speed up their processes? These are all questions that can help you identify potential areas for support and development.

Reason #2: To Ensure Your Team Has the Right Technology

In order to stay competitive, it’s important to make sure that your team has the right technology for the job. During employee reviews, it’s a good idea to review your tech stack in order to identify any current needs. Are there any tools or features that could make your team more efficient with client and candidate work? Are there any technologies that are outdated or aren't delivering for the business?

Once you have identified the current needs of your team, it’s important to do research and evaluate potential solutions. Work with the wider business to consider any new software that could help streamline processes, locate untapped candidates or support with business development.

Reason #3: Learning and Development

Furthermore, this discussion allows you to better understand the tech stack they are using and what needs to be improved. This can help to identify any gaps in knowledge or abilities, as well as any areas that are likely to require additional resources or training. When a new employee joins there is a lot to learn, making the tech stack a key part of the review process will help you to understand if any learning and development improvements need to be made to the onboarding process, or to your ongoing training offering.

Don't forget to liaise with your tech stack suppliers who will be able to support you on how to best deliver software training for your new team members.

Reason #4: Collaboration

Communication is key to ensuring that everyone understands the tech stack effectively, and can result in increased efficiency and productivity. Discussing the tech stack in employee reviews also encourages better collaboration between team members. By providing a structured approach to tech stack discussions, it encourages team members to discuss challenges and solutions collaboratively. This can then lead to increased knowledge sharing, which can have a positive impact on the success of tech stack.

By discussing your tech stack in employee reviews, you can ensure that your team is utilizing the latest technologies and staying ahead of the curve. With the right tools and practices in place, your team can achieve greater levels of success in the recruitment industry. This really matters.
