Discovering the Writer Within

I realised my gift for writing when I was around ten years old. My family migrated to Australia from France before my fifth birthday. With a Spanish mother and French father, I grew up with two languages floating around in my mind. Just when I had it all worked out I was thrown into a world of English. It was a bit of a shock for my immature brain to all of a sudden be surrounded by new foreign words that didn’t mean anything to me. I was marched off to school without any gradual integration.
