Recently, Bernard Smith Jr, MBA and I had the opportunity to represent Blacks at Microsoft Dallas while volunteering with the non-profit organization Fit and Faithful Living at the Dallas Holocaust Museum. Thier mission is simple: to positively impact lives through after-school programs, summer camps, family health and wellness programs, education awareness, and empowerment.
One of the activities we facilitated was a vision board activity, in which the students worked on who they want to become and the type of person they want to be. Each student was encouraged to create a vision board of their dreams, even if it was out of reach. It was amazing to see the students’ enthusiasm as they crafted their vision boards, and the way their faces lit up when discussing their aspirations and goals.
At the end of our time at the museum, we were able to see the impact Fit and Faithful Living was making in the community. It was inspiring to see the transformation of the students, and it was an honor to be able to represent Blacks at Microsoft in the process. Fit and Faithful Living is doing amazing work and I am proud to have been part of their mission of positively impacting lives!
