Introduction:
As an EU-India Doctoral Scholar at the University of Turin, Italy, my academic journey has been filled with enriching experiences and transformative moments. One particular highlight was my five-day visit to Florence, which allowed me to immerse myself in the intellectual heritage of the Renaissance era and the profound wisdom of influential philosophers. This article serves as a reflection on that experience and how it has shaped my growth as a coach and educator.
Coaching Evolution:
From Socrates' thought-provoking questions to Galileo's emphasis on self-discovery, the foundations of coaching can be traced back to these influential thinkers. Galileo's statement, "You cannot teach a person anything. You can only help him find it within himself," resonates deeply with the essence of coaching. It highlights the shift from a traditional didactic approach to a learner-centered methodology, where the coach's role is to guide individuals in unlocking their own potential and understanding.
