Discover the Promises of Spring
Darla Colinet
Realism Artist who inspires and encourages people to see the beauty all around us in nature and people.
I love to see the tips of pink, yellow, and white flowers peeking up through the soil as they announce Spring. After the cold season of winter, many of us feel our minds, hearts, and attitudes begin to rise in anticipation of something new.
Even though Spring has arrived around you, the current season of your heart, spirit, and mind may feel stuck in a different season. If your heart is not in the season of Spring, what gives you the desire to rise out of bed each morning to begin your day?
Hope of Something New
When your relationships, career, and life is in a good place, it’s easier to find things you’re grateful for and new motivation. If you’re in a difficult season of life, I know first-hand how hard it can be to want to get out of bed. During many years in my abusive marriage , the only thing that kept me going was to choose to trust Jesus and to love and protect my children. Knowing Christ lived in me gave me strength . I leaned on Christ’s promise that I was never alone. My faith helped me find hope, courage, and the determination to break free of my painful marriage. Just as the flower breaks the surface of the soil, I felt a newness of life spring forth once I broke free.
Purpose of Seasons
Every season during the year brings challenges, blessings, and changes to us and our environment. Each season reveals the condition of our health as we mature in life. Likewise, we can see the condition of our faith with the internal challenges of a season.
With each passing year, I have come to see life’s challenges as opportunities to grow my trust in Jesus. He is faithful. However, in our imperfectness, we need to know what we need to work on to remain faithful. God’s greatest design about the seasons in our life is the fact they will pass. King Solomon, the wisest man in the Bible, tells us:

There is a time?for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
The definition of the word spring is to rise up and spring forward. Even if your life is in another season, I encourage you to find three things you are grateful for every day. Express your thankfulness to God to keep you growing forward. You will feel your spirit, mind, and heart rising up with hope and a new determination.
Remember, when you’ve asked Jesus into your heart, he’s inside you with ALL his love, grace, and power to help you overcome your challenges. Rest in his love and walk with him to reach a season of spring in your life. Jesus knows how to help you overcome. He conquered death! Through Christ, you can rise up and do all things!
