New Insights into Governing the EU’s Climate and Sustainability Transition

Our Research Highlights provide a synthesis of selected policy-relevant academic publications, offering an essential resource on EU climate and sustainability governance. In this edition, explore seven new insights on biodiversity, circular economy, climate, energy and conservation policy and law.

Review of the Governance Regulation and the European Climate Law

In this policy paper, GreenDeal-NET experts put forth several options to upgrade the EU’s procedural climate governance through the review of the European Climate Law and the Governance Regulation. The upgrade aims to simplify compliance processes and increase efficiency across the board, streamlining legislative efforts and integrating public participation, judicial oversight, and scientific input.

Open call for papers or panels for the European Union in International Affairs (EUIA) Conference. This 9th edition will offer a forum to debate the different considerations of the EU’s relations within a fragmenting world in the past five years.

The conference offers 5 thematic areas for submission:

  • The EU’s role in diplomacy, multilateral organisations, global governance, and international trade and investment and corresponding value chains;
  • The international dimension of EU policy-making and its implementation;
  • Tools of European formal and informal foreign engagement;
  • The EU’s relations with its neighbourhood as well as with other regional organisations around the world;
  • Actions and perspectives of non-European actors towards the EU.

Submissions related to the European Green Deal and EU environmental/climate governance are welcome!
