Washington D.C. is a city with a rich history and culture. No matter the lifestyle, there are many things to do and see in the city. If your are visiting DC for the weekend, definitely take some time to explore all that the Nation's Capital has to offer. For those native to the area, be sure to revisit the gems of the District. Some popular attractions include:
1. The National Mall: This iconic green space is home to many of the city's most popular landmarks, including the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the US Capitol Building. Bonus points if you take a jog around or bring your frisbee along.

2. The White House: The official residence of the President of the United States, the White House is a must-see for anyone visiting Washington D.C.Along the way, you are sure to pick up on the diversity of ideologies that coexist in the District.
3. The Wharf in Southwest DC: With stellar shopping, original dining concepts, a fish market, and so much more, the Wharf is the ultimate hang out spot for any age group.
4. The Smithsonian Institution: This group of museums is home to some of the world's most important cultural and scientific artifacts, including the Hope Diamond and the Wright brothers' plane. Great for daytime dates with your preferred company, not to mention, admission is free.
5. The National Gallery of Art: This museum is home to an impressive collection of art from around the world, including works by famous artists like Monet, Van Gogh, and Rembrandt. Looking for a quiet and introspective atmosphere, look no further. Be sure to check out the courtyard as well.

6. U Street Bar Crawl - This area is a staple in DC nightlife. With venues ranging from?underground dance clubs to?industrial-chic spaces where you can sip artfully crafted cocktails and everything in between, U Street has every option to suit your vibe. While you're out be sure to grab a delicious bite at one of the many restaurants on U Street.
7. The National Zoo: Located in Rock Creek Park, this zoo is home to over 400 species of animals, including pandas, lions, and gorillas. Be sure to go visit the giant panda in the Asia Trail exhibit.

8. The National Archives: This institution is home to some of the country's most important historical documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Get up close and personal with charters, bills, speech cards, and other artifacts that have come to shape the nation.
9. The Kennedy Center: This performing arts center definitely makes the list by the sheer range and variety of performances that take the stage here. You can keep it classy taking in a ballet, classical music, or an opera or you can let loose with a comedy, break dancing, and so much more.
10. The Tidal Basin Loop Trail: Get your steps in and see stunning monuments and memorials along the way. Surrounding this man-made reservoir, you will happily come across the Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the FDR Memorial, the Floral Library, the Japanese Pagoda, and that's just naming a few.
