Survey Exploring Current RDM and FAIR Practices and Perceptions Around Sensitive Health Data
You are invited to take part in a research study conducted by Sa[RW1]?skia Lawson-Tovey (Division of Musculoskeletal and Dermatological Research, The University of Manchester) which aims to examine current practices around sensitive health data use, management, and sharing for research and peoples’ perceptions around either their own or general practices.
Please consider this survey if you are a professional (i.e. academic, clinician, technical professional) who uses, manages, or shares sensitive health data for research purposes.
It will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete and will close at midnight on 20 September 2024.
The Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) Fellowship Programme
The SSI Fellowship Programme [software.ac.uk] aims to improve and promote good computational practice across all research disciplines and support those who are doing this important work. Their Fellows have been recognised as ambassadors of good practices in their own domains, fields, and/or areas of work due to their dedication in promoting better software practices.
The programme is open to applicants at various career stages, including PhD candidates, junior research software engineers, early-career professionals, mid-career individuals, and senior figures such as professors and directors of research computing. Applications close 7 October 2024.
British Heart Foundation (BHF) Data Science Centre’s Open Challenge
The BHF Data Science Centre is hosting an open challenge in collaboration with experts from the University of Edinburgh which invites competitors to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence to improve the use of electrocardiogram (ECG) for cardiovascular disease patient care.
Competitors will be invited to develop algorithms which can make clinical diagnoses, based on the information held within the ECG images.??
The winning group will have the opportunity to present their results as part of a BHF Data Science Centre webinar and to work with the BHF Data Science Centre team to publish the results of the open challenge.??
The challenge begins on 23 September and closes on 2 December 2024.?

SAIL Databank TRE User Training Courses
Registration for three new SAIL Databank TRE (trusted research environment) user training courses is now open for 2024. This course will enable learners to effectively access and navigate the SAIL Gateway following project approval. These courses are essential for all new SAIL Databank users.
