Voice quality is a crucial metric for end-user experience and is viewed by many Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Regulators as a standard of service excellence. Evaluating audio MOS (Mean Opinion Score) quality is now a universal part of regulatory assessments globally.

As technology transitions from circuit-switched 2G and 3G voice services to packet-switched services like Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) and soon Voice over New Radio (VoNR), it becomes essential to assess voice quality across all these technologies. The increasing use of Over-the-Top (OTT) voice apps such as WhatsApp and Viber further necessitates that Regulators, MNOs, and communication service providers (CSPs) expand their voice MOS evaluations to include these platforms.
