A spotlight on improving research into Women's Health
As we approach our 2025 conference on this topic, our latest feature builds on this discussion and introduces videos from experts in the field, who are working with us to deliver a valuable meeting for any scientist interested in contributing to improved studies in this area.
Championing improved research into diverse populations through regional training initiatives
In July, we shared the first part of an in-depth interview with participants from our 2023 Single Cell Genomics course, held in Brazil. This focused on three of five participants, who excelled in our grant writing workshop, and received funding from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) to attend our 2024 Single Cell Biology conference, at our flagship home on the Wellcome Genome Campus, UK.
In the second part of this interview, highlighting our collaborative training activities across Latin America, we hear from two more of our grant writing champions from 2023: reflecting on the transformative impact of the course, and how their newly acquired skills and experiences have shaped current research projects.
We also share highlights from a brand new Single Cell Symposium we ran in Brazil this year, designed to connect scientific communities, across Latin America.
Start learning from 30 September - free online course in antimicrobial resistance prediction and analysis.
Our brand new online course: Antimicrobial Databases and Genotype Prediction: Data Sharing and Analysis is a free resource, led by experts in bacterial genomics and data analysis, focusing on how to use relevant tools and databases for the prediction of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Our educators will guide you through everything you need to learn how to confidently predict AMR using your own data, understand effective data-sharing, and enhance your expertise in AMR genomics.
Learning is supported through the FutureLearn platform.
On completion, you will receive 15 CPD credits from the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) .
Discover must-attend conferences for your 2025 diary
With the onset of autumn in the UK, we start to look ahead to our 2025 conference programme, and the exciting opportunities available to scientists interested in strengthening their genomics knowledge and networks. Many events are now open for abstract submissions and bursary applications, giving you plenty of time to consider your next meeting with us.
Next year, we will explore new topics such as women's health while revisiting established ones, including Human Evolution: From Fossils to Ancient and Modern Genomes, following a four-year hiatus from our in-person programme. There are events covering a broad range of biomedical fields, enabling you to explore the latest genomics tools, technologies, and applications relevant to your research.
