Discover the journey of DSM Aromas

DSM Aroma Ingredients’ roots stretch back to 2004 when DSM acquired Roche Vitamins and Fine Chemicals, renaming it DSM Nutritional Products (DNP). Always committed to supply security, DNP continued to produce aroma ingredients at the former site of Roche Vitamins (now DNP Lalden) for a few selected F&F companies. The original portfolio was limited to nine ingredients and was largely dominated by chemical intermediates that customers would convert into finished aromachemicals for the Fragrance industry.

Between 2005–2011, the customer base expanded considerably to include a large variety of companies, from large global corporations to small-medium sized regional companies as well as distributors. In the same period, 11 additional aromachemicals were launched to complete the portfolio across the families of Lavender, Ionones and Specialties. This transformed DNP’s original image as a chemical producer into that of a reliable supplier of high quality aroma ingredients.?

By 2017, DSM Aroma ingredients was proudly serving most of the F&F companies with more than 45 aromachemicals ingredients in its portfolio.

The reliability of supply, acknowledged by all customers during the market turbulences experienced in 2017–2018, has propelled DSM Aroma Ingredients to the next level and to a position as a solid and trustworthy partner in the F&F industry. This progress has also enabled engagement in long-term agreements and collaborations with many customers.

In the coming years, DSM Aroma ingredients will continue addressing its customers’ challenges while expanding and offering a diversified portfolio of market solutions developed via best-in-class technological platforms.
