My vision of the future of AI art as a collaborative process between artists and AI. This approach highlights a synergy where human creativity and AI capabilities enhance each other, leading to innovative and unique artworks.

Case Study

I first started with my artwork. This is a ceramic wall hanging wall art I created out of clay. This is what I wanted to use as my beginning image to further refine.

I used an AI platform, Stable Fusion, which operates locally on my computer, to refine my initial artwork. My request was for a painting inspired by Pablo Picasso. Below is one of the initial images AI produced.

As you can see it looks pretty bad, right. And it took about 15 minutes and maxed out my 3070 TI graphics card. The prompt I used was as follows: "Create a painting of a hunting dog in the style of Picasso."

Next I tried switching models. The AI model used can greatly impact the end result.

Models are typically trained on large datasets, allowing them to learn patterns, styles, or behaviors. In the context of art, for example, a model might be trained on countless images or artworks to understand various artistic styles.

After going through 15 different models using the simple prompt "Create a painting of a hunting dog in the style of Picasso." and a day later, I finally got a promising image I thought I could use to refine further. Here it is.

Then I began working on a prompt to further refine the image using. Actually, the image AI generated looks pretty good. AI even attempted to sign the painting in the lower left hand corner. Looks like Picasso himself signed it, ha!!!

After a few attempts here is my final prompt: "A painting of a hunting dog's face. Create a painting of a hunting dog in the style of Pablo Picasso, focusing on the distinctive characteristics of Cubism. The dog should be represented with fragmented and abstracted forms, using bold and vivid colors. The composition should emphasize geometric shapes, showcasing multiple perspectives of the hunting dog within the same frame. Highlight the energy and movement typical of hunting dogs, while also integrating Picasso's unique approach to form and color. The background should be minimal yet expressive, using a blend of colors and shapes that complement the main subject. Aim for a balance between abstraction and recognizably, capturing the essence of the hunting dog in a manner that is unmistakably Picasso-esque."

And here is the final image.

It's what I had envisioned and its looks pretty good. It took my computer about half a day to generate several images in which this one looks the best.
