Discourse on Need And Greed

“Work hard till the door of your car opens in a vertical way”

Maladkar: What difference does it make, whichever way it opens ! Shouldn’t we be satisfied when our need is fulfilled and not go after greed. Instead focus and work hard on yourself, that is much harder than getting a car with a vertical door. That car is easy to buy relatively. But working on heart, mind and soul to bring it to a higher level is difficult. So work hard but on your inner self, not for outer self. There is no end otherwise to our wants and when end time comes you have to leave behind your car anyway, which one day will go to the scrapyard. Our wants keep on rising and in His eyes we keep on falling, yet after desires we keep on going, instead of leaving. If in desires you rise, then in desires you will fall, but if from desires you arise, then you would have conquered all. From now nothing can touch you, no one can conquer you. You are slave to none, when with yourself there is the One. As Swami Vivekananda has rightly said, “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you. None can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.’ Humans spend 13 percent of their lives not focusing on anything in particular. Even if we focus that 13 percent on ourselves instead of our wants and desires, we would have achieved much. How much in worldly affairs will you hide, how long into mundane matters will your time tide; better to begin your journey dear, that which will bring the Divine near. When the end will be nearing, there will only be one message flashing. That will be Game Over, thank you for playing ! So play the best, the game of life, lest, your life will be one of regret, of not having your heart desires met !!
