Discouragement & The Housing Market

I spoke to a realtor this week who was feeling a bit down about how slow things have been lately. I can relate; my summer was slower than usual too. ?It’s so easy to feel discouraged and start doubting ourselves. But there are a few reasons why homebuyers are holding back right now:

• NAR Settlement- The new rules created some uncertainty for all of us- realtors, lenders, and buyers alike.
• Lower mortgage rates: Even though rates have come down, some buyers are waiting to see if they’ll drop even more.
• Presidential Election: We often see buyers and sellers extra cautious during election years. ?

?

The important thing to remember is that we can’t control these factors. I reminded my friend that what we can control is how we show up every day. We can get back to the basics that made us successful in the first place.

Let’s keep showing up with our best every day. Let’s let our hospitality and service be overwhelming to clients. And we’ll look back and see that we had some of the best months to end a year of our careers.
