Discipline vs Motivation
People often ask me, “How do you keep going, whether things are going well or not?”
We all have the same 24 hours..
We all have the same 24 hours. Personally, I work every day—yes, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Some might say, “I can’t do that, I want a life,” and that’s fair. But it all comes back to one simple question: How badly do you want to be successful??
Why did you get into business in the first place?
Here’s the truth: Discipline outweighs motivation every time.
?Why? Because when you work every day, you grow your skill set faster than someone who only works 5 days a week. As Elon Musk once said, “If other people are putting in 40-hour workweeks and you’re putting in 100-hour workweeks, then even if you’re doing the same thing … you will achieve in four months what it takes them a year to achieve.”?
?Business is all about output. The more you put in, the more data you gather, and the faster you understand the next steps to grow. It’s not just about “working smarter”—it’s about doing more smart work than anyone else.
The only way to sustain this kind of effort is through discipline. If you wait until you “feel like it,” you’ll never take action. Growth is uncomfortable, and that’s why discipline is key.
?How do you stay disciplined? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
