DiSC
What a great morning at The Hub For Learning DiSC session at the Whitehorse Business Group breakfast.
It was so very informative and highlighted the need for teams to achieve balance with the team members and to also respect that different is different - it is not necessarily bad.
Kathy Collier provided all attendees with a very warm welcome. Quest Mont Albert provided the venue and The Hub for Learning provided the content.
Kerrie Nobes represented The Hub for Learning and provided us with a snapshot of the power of the DiSC profiling tool when used appropriately and when facilitated expertly.
The energy in the room was amazing as people explored their style and shared their relation to their predominant style. There were light bulb moments flashing everywhere.
I know that it provided a timely reminder to how this can be used to build a team up and create understanding between team members.
If you are like me and have a high leaning towards the D style and you are working with someone who is a High C then you can begin to understand the ways in which you compliment each other rather than antagonise each other.
Obviously we did not have time to explore in depth, but every person in the room came away with a better understanding of their place in a team.
We had guests thinking about the value that this tool could provide their teams and luckily for them, The Hub for Learning can help them.
If you have a team where the communication is not quite right, consider a profiling tool like DiSC. Done correctly, you will only reap the rewards with a more productive and better functioning team.
