DISC-based Leadership Coaching: Client Feedback
"The DISC-based Leadership coaching program had a profound impact on my personal and professional growth in various areas.
Self-Awareness and Self-Management:
The DISC assessment helped me to understand my behavioral tendencies, enhancing self-awareness. Example would be that I used to take a very direct approach when communicating often focusing solely on achieving results. Through DISC coaching, I realized that some prefer a more supportive, patient approach. This awareness has helped me to adapt my communication, leading to better collaboration and less friction.
Decision-Making and Time-Management:
DISC also helped me enhance decision-making by highlighting how different personalities process information. By understanding this I can manage my time more effectively by allocating specific time slots for detailed analysis rather than getting bogged down. As an example, I used to struggle with decision-making when under pressure because I wanted to gather as much data as possible. DISC coaching helped me recognize this tendency and develop strategies to make timely decisions by focusing on the key data points by trusting my judgment.
Please share examples of how this has benefited you and how you intend to apply that knowledge to your work situation.
The DISC-based coaching process significantly improves how one relates to others by fostering better leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Improved Communication and Leadership:
By understanding different DISC styles, I am able to tailor my communication to the needs of the person I am interacting with. This I believe is especially helpful in leadership when managing a diverse team. For instance, a person with a "D" (dominant) style may prefer direct, action-oriented communication, but a person with "I" (influence) or "S" (steadiness) styles may respond better to a more enthusiastic or empathetic approach. Some team members thrived on brainstorming and big-picture discussions while others preferred structure and predictability. By adapting my communication—encouraging creativity and providing clear expectations and timelines I was able to create a more cohesive and motivated team.
Conflict Resolution and Collaboration:
DISC has also been incredibly valuable for conflict resolution by helping me understand why conflicts arise. Different personality types can have different conflict triggers. "D" personality might get frustrated with delays, while a "C" personality could be uncomfortable with last-minute changes. Knowing these tendencies allows me for more effective conflict resolution, fostering empathy and collaboration. DISC has enhanced my ability to lead and collaborate by fostering a deeper understanding of the people I work with and how to meet their communication and emotional needs. It also helped me to realize that some qualities of individuals are natural and that those cannot be changed, and we need to accept it if we are to work for the growth of the organization setting aside our differences and our opinions about others. I learned to be straight and firm when handling with such people in order to full fill the vision and mission of the organization.
The DISC-based coaching has benefited me in several ways, particularly by improving my leadership effectiveness, enhancing team dynamics, and enabling more strategic decision-making. DISC has helped me better understand my leadership style and how it impacts my team. For instance, I lean towards a more results-driven, direct approach (a "D" style), but I’ve learned that some team members, especially those with an "S" or "C" style, may feel overwhelmed by such intensity. To address this, I’ve adapted my style to provide more encouragement and detailed instructions, when necessary, which has resulted in a noticeable improvement in team morale and performance. By adjusting my approach, giving them space to focus on quality while maintaining communication on progress, we could meet the deadline without sacrificing quality or team well-being.
