Disasters in Turkey and Syria

Disasters in Turkey and Syria

Again an unfortunate drama, our prays with them????

Geography, History, Geopolitics, Intelligence: I invite you to understand History to read the future. This approach is not deterministic but an element to know the fundamental forces and variables that shape the future.

Where tectonic plates slide past each other, a process called transcurrent tectonics occurs, where long linear valleys and ridges dominate the landscape. Traveling around the world, especially in very remote areas, I wondered why ancient civilizations of the old world tended to be located along the boundaries of transcurrent-type tectonic plates.

The recurrence of destructive seismic activity has influenced the development of societies throughout History. Many ancient cities were rebuilt on the ruins of ancient populations; some were abandoned due to damage, with survivors settling in different locations. All this generated forced migrations and displacements amid enormous human dramas. Archaeoseismological remains from other ancient cities in the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean open the debate as to whether a single major earthquake or a seismic storm destroyed antiquity in the region during 50 years between 1225 and 1175 BC.

  THE RING OF THE FIRE

We see in the work of Bruce Mcfadgen that the closer links of tectonism with derived civilizations suggest a role for ancient trade connections, accelerated cultural and religious changes following tectonic events etc.

After the Ring of Fire bordering the Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean is one of the most active seismic zones on the planet, where northward displacement of the African plate produces a compression at the edge of the Eurasian plate, seismically impacting Turkey, Greece, Italy, the Alboran Sea and much of the Maghreb, on the African plate.

Ask your architects, construction companies, urban planners, geophysicists, oil companies, wind power, or submarine cable companies about the value of geography in their work. Ask the people of the deserts, those of the jungles, and those who live in temperate or polar climates. Ask the specialists about demographic development, the economic disparities by continents, or the predominance of certain forms of government according to regions, and you will be approaching Geopolitics. Detect then personalities, known or unknown links, and hidden agendas derived from pacts or unconfessable agreements, and you will get closer to Intelligence.
