In the spirit of "giving back" to those who served in an effort to transform the men and women of today's military into strong impactful leaders contributing to the civilian sector, DRI offers a scholarship through their Veteran Outreach Program to active duty and honorably separated veterans who who have separated within 5 years.
The scholarship will include, at no cost to qualified candidates, admission to Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI) educational course (BCE 2000) all course materials, qualifying examination, and all applicable certification fees.
Qualified candidates will attend a week long course learning about Business Continuity principles and be given a chance to pass an exam and apply to become a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). Courses are taught throughout multiple locations by professional instructors most of whom also have prior military experience.
Why Business Continuity? It covers a wide area of professions including Emergency Response, Crisis Management, and Disaster Recovery. It's a certification that displays that you have the knowledge and the know-how to keep business operations flowing in the event of an emergency, disaster, or crisis. If you look at the current state of affairs the world is currently adjusting to, it's a very relevant certification.
Why the need for Veterans? Think about the career field of veterans. As veterans, we are thoroughly trained in risk assessment, impact analysis, incident responses, plan development, training programs, crisis communications, exercise assessments, and coordination with outside agencies. Most of the time, us veterans have done something in each of those areas all on a Tuesday. In fact, most of us are at the expert level in these principles and might not even realize it. Those are the core competency areas of Business Continuity!
It all starts with the Veteran Outreach Program Scholarship application. Apply today!
