Let's dive into something truly transformative this Earth Day! The Clean Rivers Project is not just a project—it's a mission to revitalize our waterways right here in Washington, DC! At Delon Hampton & Associates Chartered, (DHA) we're thrilled to be at the forefront of this game-changing initiative alongside DC Water. The Clean Rivers Project is DC Water's ongoing program to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSOs) into the District's waterways - the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers and Rock Creek. The Project is a massive infrastructure program designed to capture and clean wastewater during rainfalls before it ever reaches our rivers. When completed in 2030, the Clean Rivers Project will provide a system-wide CSO volume reduction of 96% in an average rainfall year. The Clean Rivers Project is comprised of a system of deep tunnels, sewer and diversion facilities to capture CSOs and deliver them to Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Project is also installing Green Infrastructure to assist with the reduction of CSOs to the Potomac River and Rock Creek. I have been a member of the DHA management team for over 10 years.?I originally started with DHA in 2011 where I served as Controller for 5 years.? In 2018, after a brief 2 years, DHA asked me to consider returning as Chief Financial Officer.? I was honored when asked to return to DHA. It is refreshing to know that your previous contributions not only made a lasting impression, but also helped make a difference.
