Disappearing Acts
Lately there have been active members who have been banned or suspended. High school never ends. Use the site and if someone, somewhere complains? Guilty until proven innocent.
There are no #JusticeforChandra hashtags. People who speak out against Black Lives Matter might be banned and are greatly supported. Defend the rights of minorities and give women a chance in the hiring process and Ms. Hardy stands alone.
None of which has to do with the greatest loss of the week. The federal case made over Chris Williams being banned for reasons I do not know led to his return one day later. Another man was banned and reinstated. Michael Strahan told him the gap in his front teeth is too big.
That man seemed untrustworthy and attacked various connections so I don't want to know him. I was not connected with James Bliwas. He was vociferous in what worked on LinkedIn and how this is becoming a foolish site.
He was old enough to appreciate LinkedIn Groups as an environment where professionals could engage. He hated the GIFing of this site. A couple connections were using GIF's and I stopped commenting. Every time someone responded I saw some distracting image.
The name of the game is responding to comments. If you are putting out ideas that inspire others to comment? Let them know and start a conversation. James wrote articles and The last time I commented, one week ago Thursday, he replied:
“My Articles here on LI form part of my writing portfolio so they serve a useful purpose. ”
I have always hoped my profile will be left open after I am gone so anyone who wants to read my body of work can do so. Any proponent of long form articles is good. He spoke out against LinkedIn Stories. I still don't have that and really don't want that nonsense.
Write articles about personal lives. He has a long one about two "Uncles." It is a testament that anyone can enjoy. With his recent passing (another heart attack. Cancer and heart disease have not taken a holiday in this pandemic) this site has lost a voice of maturity. We shall still have people bragging about hiring someone who didn't deserve it, the way they hustle and those stupid GIF's that make this site frivolous.
There is a woman whose GIF addiction makes me not want to connect. She is nice and responds to comments. Her overuse of someone else's images makes her seem like a nice person who drinks too much. Stay away. It is not the gateway to a serious relationship. I never had the chance to connect with Mr. Bliwas. When you have dialogues on this site? A first degree connection is not necessary. Thank you, Jim.
