For 美国军队 Sgt. 1st Class Sabian Leslie, giving back isn’t just an act of service — it’s a way of life. For over a year, Leslie, Defense Information Systems Agency senior spiritual fitness advisor, has been a steadfast presence at Deep Run Elementary School in Elkridge, Maryland, dedicating his time to inspire and support young students.
Leslie’s impact goes far beyond typical volunteer work; he’s a mentor, role model and friend to the students, pouring his heart into helping them dream big and persevere. Through countless hours of selfless service, he’s become a guiding light, reminding these children that they have the power to shape their own futures.
Reflecting on his time at the school, Leslie shared, “Volunteering at Deep Run Elementary has been a journey of heart and soul, a place where I’ve learned as much as I’ve shared. Each moment spent with these young minds reminds me of the purity of dreams and the courage to reach for them.”
Leslie’s dedication to the students is evident in his support and encouragement. He strives to instill values of optimism and resilience, believing that today’s students will be tomorrow’s leaders.
“In guiding their steps, I’ve found direction in my own path; in lifting them, I’ve felt my own spirit rise,” said Leslie. “This experience has taught me the profound strength in compassion and the enduring beauty in hope.”
Leslie embodies his message by investing his time to help these students envision a brighter future. He sees this work as a gift that not only benefits the children but brings meaning to his own life.
Leslie expressed, “It’s a gift to be a part of shaping their futures, and in doing so, I feel my own life takes on greater purpose and meaning.”
