Dirt Turned on Future Queensland City’s First Estate

Waraba is finally on its way to becoming south-east Queensland’s newest regional city.

Formerly known as Caboolture West, the greenfield growth hub north of Brisbane is expected to accommodate about 70,000 residents and 30,000 homes within the next 40 years.

Lennium Group is the first of several developers with landholdings in Waraba’s first precinct to break ground on its residential subdivision.

Lilywood Landings estate spans 70ha within Waraba’s first suburb of Lilywood.

The Noosa-based group was among four major developers given the green light by Moreton Bay Regional Council in August last year for Waraba’s first residential projects. The other developers were AVID Property Group, Baycrown Property Group and Orchard Property Group.

Combined, they will unlock an initial total of 2000 home sites.

Lilywood Landings estate sits at the gateway to Waraba and will comprise 705 lots along with parklands, walking trails and conservation areas along the Caboolture River.

Lennium Group development manager Ian Worthington said the first stages of the estate would be launched to market in coming weeks with land prices starting at under $300,000.

“This will offer buyers a very affordable entry into the new home market with the land suitable for the majority of three to four-bedroom family homes,” he said.

Lilywood Landings is the Lennium Group’s largest project to date and will also be home to Waraba’s first display village.

The new community will adjoin existing housing and is close to a range of education, shopping, recreation and transport connections.

Lennium director Nicholas Lennon said the company had been planning Lilywood Landings for almost 20 years.

“We have been a driving force in the Caboolture West vision and after all this hard work we are finally here onsite today with our civil contractors mobilised and starting on a brand new city.”
