Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College , established in 1875 by the Sisters of Mercy, is a Catholic independent secondary school for girls located in North Sydney. With a rich history spanning over 145 years, Monte is the oldest independent girls’ school on Sydney’s north shore and currently caters to approximately 1,200 students from Years 7 to 12.

The college’s educational philosophy is encapsulated in its motto, “Religio Scientia Cultus,” emphasising the importance of belief, knowledge, and values. Monte offers a holistic education grounded in Mercy tradition, focusing on academic excellence, spiritual growth, and social justice.

The Director Finance and Resources is an essential member of the College Executive and is responsible for effectively managing the College’s Finance and Business Operations, Risk, Facilities and commercial activities. They will bring financial expertise, strategic insight and commercial acumen, ensuring a contemporary approach that maximises opportunities and value for the College. The Director Finance and Resources will support the Board in all governance, compliance and regulatory areas, as well as attendance at all board meetings and relevant board committees.

Key Selection Criteria

• Expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and implementing effective budget and reporting processes.
• Ability to manage property assets, capital projects, and maintenance in compliance with WHS standards.
• Experienced? in risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and incident management.
• Skilled in overseeing commercial operations, vendor management, and identifying revenue opportunities.
• Experienced in supporting governance structures, including board functions and regulatory requirements.
• Clear commitment to supporting the College’s mission and Mercy values, fostering a nurturing and faith-centred community.
