We just received a request from a rapidly growing international branded hospitality resort company for a high-profile, bilingual (Spanish / English) Director of Development for the Mexican & Caribbean region, based in one of the corporate offices in Cancun, Mexico.
This position will be responsible to identify strategic acquisition candidates for the company as well as negotiating and securing third party hotel management agreements.
This professional should have a strong financial and analytical background with exposure to the hotel or real estate industry, to understand key hotel and property business metrics.
?Extrovert profile, able to build relationships. Maybe even somebody that has been part of deals but not led them, eager to grow, tackle challenges and become deal makers on their own.
The person in this position will work with the Vice President of the company on the business development efforts including acquisitions, third party hotel management agreements, new development deals, and equity and debt sourcing efforts as well as provide post-deal signing support to the integration and financial planning organization, overseeing the regulatory review process.
He or she must develop a strong network and working relationships with key contacts in the Mexico and Caribbean regions to source new opportunities to achieve the strategic expansion plan.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background of acquisition in the hotel and/or real estate industry.
Skills, Experience & Education Requirements:
? Proven ?track record as a transaction-oriented hotel management and/ or hotel real estate professional
? Relevant experience in ?hotel management and/or operations, hotel feasibility and market studies in a hospitality management environment (including hospitality real estate industry, hotel asset management, hotel operations or hospitality real estate operations) and ability to reconcile perspectives related to hotel ownership, hotel management and brand positioning
? Background of sourcing leads in Mexico and the Caribbean. Must have a network of working relationships and key contacts within the hospitality industry in the region
? Hands-on deal closing mentality. Ability to negotiate hotel management agreements
??Strong working knowledge of financial statements, accounting and the ability to understand complex pro-forma models

?Bachelor’s degree required. MBA a plus

This is a very competitive compensation package for the ideal candidate which obviously includes a closing commission agreement for any property signed.
