Heathdale Christian College (HCC) is a well-established and well-regarded non-denominational Christian school in Melbourne’s outer west. The College partners with families who seek an education that nurtures the whole child based on God’s word. HCC cares for and guides students towards academic excellence and the development of character, integrity and virtue to stand up for their beliefs with wisdom and discernment. Having opened in 1982, today HCC proudly celebrates 40 years of Christian education across two campuses, Melton and Werribee, where the Board, Executive and staff continue to strive to invest in the development of:?

  • Students, through the curriculum, subjects, programs, opportunities and well-being support which provide opportunities for each student according to their God-given gifts and talents, to service God locally and globally
  • Teachers and staff, through personal development training and opportunities, to equip them to support, guide and meet the needs of students and the College
  • Infrastructure, to enable learning and teaching with state-of-the-art facilities

The Director of Business Services (DoBS) is a key executive position within the school appointed by the Executive Principal. Along with the Executive Principal, the DoBS reports directly to the Board. As such, the successful candidate will be well-versed in the requirements of educational and financial statutory and regulatory frameworks as well as governance practices and accounting standards. The role oversees a diverse GSM team across portfolios in Finance, Human Resources, Risk and Compliance, IT, Grounds and Maintenance as well as Marketing / Enrolments / Community Development across the whole school. Having successfully navigated a period of significant growth and change, the GSMs under the stewardship of the DoBS, are well-positioned to launch into a significant masterplan development that will significantly expand and enhance the facilities across both campuses. As such, the successful candidate will be adept at forging effective partnerships and relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, whilst understanding the nuanced context of a school environment.

Specifically, the successful applicant will demonstrate extensive experience and expertise to ensure that they reflect our distinctive Christian culture in the following areas:

  • Finance, Governance and Strategic leadership
  • Business, Operations, Facilities and Staff Management
  • Business and Community Development
  • ICT and Trading Operations

Whilst not aligned to any Christian church, the successful candidate will abide by the College’s Theological Statements of Faith and is a proven team player who will provide support to both the Principal and the College Board.?
