Digital Projection Bridges the Commercial/Residential Divide
The technological differences in commercial and residential projects are growing increasingly harder to discern. Companies are redesigning their corporate workspaces to evoke the creature comforts of home, while residences are incorporating a caliber of technology normally reserved for commercial settings. As a result, projection systems and displays once relevant only for the commercial market are crossing into residential territory and vice versa. Digital Projection has paced with this trend by introducing versatile, multi-faceted imaging solutions suitable for both applications. It’s a move that’s made life a lot easier for systems integrators and creates exciting new business opportunities. Think about the possibilities—you can use the same LED display in a high-end home that you typically install in hotel lobbies and retail establishments. Resimercial represents a huge opportunity to strengthen and expand your business.?

PRODUCT REVIEW: E-Vision 4000
Glowing Product Review from CE Pro
When Bob Archer from CE Pro asked to review our?E-Vision 4000?projector, we were more than happy to oblige. After all, it’s got a lot going for it—affordable, versatile, and a performance powerhouse. What could Bob possibly criticize? As it turns out, not much! He admired nearly everything about this mid-level laser projector. Here’s a snippet of his review (Click?here?to read the full evaluation):
Setting up the projector took no time.
Unboxing and making the connections were easy. Once I turned the projector on, I also found that setting the screen size, geometry and focus was also easy. The focus and zoom controls are located on rings on the projector lens. The horizontal and vertical shift controls are located on the top of the projector underneath an integrated hidden compartment. I like the feel of manual lens controls when compared to many of the powered lenses on the market.
The movements seem more precise, but with that said I do understand that powered lenses are more convenient in situations such as ceiling-mounted projectors.
I then proceeded to enter the projector’s menu system, which I thought was easy to navigate. In the menu I made my various adjustments, including picture mode, black levels and contrast levels, and aspect ratio. I’ll note that because of the “horsepower” the E-Vision 4000 delivers through its ability to light up a screen, I think it pairs better with more traditional screen products.
Bottom line: The $5,300 E-Vision 4000 provides integrators with a competitively priced projector that comes from a company with professional video roots. Designed to support a range of home video installations that includes dedicated theater and multipurpose rooms, the reasonably priced projector offers a lot of system flexibility for both integrators and homeowners.

Projection or dvLED Display? What’s the Best Choice?
As a provider of both imaging technologies, Digital Projection is uniquely positioned to objectively recommend the best applications for each. Our insights were recently featured in?Residential Systems?magazine.?
Here are a few key takeaways from that op-ed:
The bottom line: Each solution has its own unique performance, design and installation merits, suit diverse applications, and delivers outstanding imaging experiences to audiences. You can’t go wrong with either, so why not expand your reach into new markets by offering both?

TITAN 4K Satellite MLS Tackles Tight Confines; Brings Movies to Life for Film Class at Worcester State University

The stadium-style classroom underwent a major cosmetic and technological overhaul. Where there once was a small, outdated display on which to present course material now exists an immersive projection screen spanning 24.8 feet wide.?Screen size certainly mattered in this renovation but just as important was the quality of the projected image. There were several requirements:?exceptional color accuracy, uniformity across the entire surface, high resolution, and high brightness. A 3-chip RGB laser projector was the best candidate for the job. There was just one problem—the closet built for the projector lacked the necessary space to comfortably accommodate a regular-size 3-chip projector.?
WSU had hired the AV consultants at Cavanaugh Tocci Associates to manage the project; they contacted Digital Projection for their advice. Coincidentally, Digital Projection had just released its Satellite Modular Laser System (MLS) line of projectors. Purpose-built to fit into cramped quarters and deliver the bright, crisp imagery characteristic of 3-chip laser projectors, Satellite MLS was perfectly suited for this challenging space-constrained project. Based on other environmental and viewing conditions, the systems integrators at Pro AV Systems selected the TITAN 4K S-MLS—which for this project was designed and installed to output 20,000 lumens. This would maintain a bright, sharp image whenever the classroom lights were on. With on-site guidance from Digital Projection’s Field Application Engineer, Pro AV Systems had the system properly installed, configured, calibrated, certified and up and running in no time.?
“One of the biggest advantages of being a Digital Projection dealer is the unmatched level of service and support we receive. On this job and others, they take very good care of us and make sure everything goes right,” says Pro AV Systems Adrienne Blasioli. “They do most of the heavy lifting so we can focus on the integration aspects of a job.”
