DIRECT FROM THE SUN Newsletter #Season 1 - Chapter 3
Great news from the United Kingdom and expert talk in highlight events about energy
Welcome to a new edition of Direct from the Sun! May is a really bright month, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, and a perfect moment to celebrate that we have energized a new project in a very important market for our international strategy. On other topics, we continue to disseminate the advantages of the PVH products in highlighted events. And, of course, we are hiring!??
GRS energized the first PV plant connected to the UK national transmission grid
Just a few days ago we celebrated the successful energization of Larks Green Solar Farm, the first photovoltaic plant that our construction company EPC GRS has built in the United Kingdom. The 49.9 MWac / 71 MWdc installation will be the first to connect to the National Grid, which is a major step forward for the implementation of renewable energies in the country.
"The different institutions in the United Kingdom are highly aware of where the energy transition should be heading and, in this sense, projects such as Larks Green can make a huge contribution,"?says Matt Denyer , Gransolar's Country Manager in the UK.?
You can find the information about this new project in our blog.
The added value of storage
We attended Solar + Storage Espa?a, an event where the main players in the energy sector met to discuss the need of incorporating storage to every renewable energy system. Our CEO, Iván H. , and the Global Commercial Director at PVH, álvaro Casado Portuondo , participated as speakers and spoke about the internationalization of the Group.
Our solar trackers worldwide?
Did you know that one out of nine of every solar tracker installed in the world is manufactured by PVH - PVHardware ? Our solutions help maximize the performance of photovoltaic plants on five continents.
Our ability to adapt to different climatological and orographic conditions has allowed us to work in very diverse markets, and we still have a lot to explore!
The importance of networking
Institutional Relations are pivotal in a company like ours. They help us to strengthen relationships with other players in the sector and to get to know the market better, as Luis Marquina , Gransolar's Director of Institutional Relations, explains.??
As we believe that people can best describe what we do, we asked our team about the key points of their roles. You can discover the 'Gransolar in person' list and subscribe to our YouTube channel here.
Play hard, work hard?
Sharing the successes of the people who make up Gransolar makes us especially happy. That is why we are so proud to celebrate the promotion of Ingenia Solar Energy Costa de Almería to the Challenge League, the second division of Spanish women's basketball, and happy to experience it so closely with Lucía Méndez and Irene Garrido Pérez , who combine their sporting activity with their professional work at ISE Energía.
“Other companies should take a cue from ISE Energia , which supports women's and minority sports. It has helped me a lot to strike a balance between my two lives, sports and professional,” states Lucía Méndez, from the Purchasing Department of the company.
