DIRE NEED OF TRAINING FRESHERS: INDIA'S US ACCOUNTING INDUSTRY

Allow me to take you back 20 years. The US accounting industry in India was fresh, and as a result, the available pool of trained people was limited. So my mentor Kshitij Patel being the highly foresighted person that he is saw what the need of industry was and took the step to introduce training for U.S. Accounting and Taxation. He gave the responsibility to head it and train competent individuals. So I planned and designed a comprehensive course from scratch. Our plan was to create a three-month intensive training program starting from November till January. So that the trained individuals could work through the tax season with us starting from February. We observed that by one year when the cycle ended, all the individuals become competent enough to be industry seniors.

We trained approximately 500 people over the course of a couple of years. On this date, those 500 individuals comprise the industry's pioneers. Many of them hold senior positions at the industry's largest companies, while others have their own successful entrepreneurial ventures.

It's been twenty years since we started that program, and the industry is once again calling for similar measures. India is gaining a foothold in the field of US accounting and taxation on a daily basis, but the growth of trained professionals is lagging. There are numerous freshers knocking on the doors of various companies looking for opportunities to kick-start their careers but are unsuccessful due to the high demand for experienced professionals. Thus, rather than adding new employees to the industry, existing employees are rotated from one company to another with higher pay offerings. However, if we want the industry to survive as a whole and eliminate this barrier between freshers and companies looking to hire experienced staff, training is once again the correct approach.?

Thus, someone had to take on the responsibility of training candidates and returning excellent professionals to the industry, and here I am attempting to do the same. I co-founded Phoenix Institute with the same vision, knowing that if nothing is done now, it will not be too late for the industry and it will?relocate to other countries. Our training programs not only provide skill development but also ensure employment opportunities with us, where trainees work alongside our teams and continue to grow every day and hour. Phoenix's training programs provide numerous opportunities to develop the skills and experience necessary to succeed in a competitive job market. Our team is committed to preparing freshers?for their professional careers by providing valuable real-world experiences, networking opportunities, and career mentoring.

To ensure that this industry continues to thrive in our country, we must ensure that we are sowing the right seeds and contributing to growth rather than detracting from it. Thus, I'm inviting everyone forward through this article to step forward and help us with this initiative and make it a success for the industry that we love.
