Dimetrix
This week, it is called 'Dimetrix' by IRIS Official.
Dimetrix is the third track from the brand new IRIS album, ‘Dawn of The Dimetrix’. The album came out on the 22nd of August and safe to say that this album is very experimental in regards to its use of sound design, synth creation and it’s catering to a varied audience. If you are not familiar with IRIS, be sure to check out my talk on Cold Man and BioBond.?
What the song means to me is that it is an anthem, it’s big, energetic, and heavy. What I love about the song most is the mixing, the kick itself sounds like a mixture between Tama Starclassic Bubinga and Pearl Masters Birch kick, very clicky, but punchy at the same time, which is something that I love when listening to metal music and Will has been able to pull it off in a perfect way. The sawtooth synth arrangement that is incorporated helps evoke the experimentation as well as providing a gritty undertone. The key of the song is C Minor in order to give the song its darker tonality whilst the bpm of it is 180, giving the song an energetic feel and bold prowess.?
The song itself talks about the idea of replication. In Transmission 3 of the Valentin Arc, Replication is seen as a soulless venture that encourages others to be unoriginal to themselves, whether it’s through their own stories or music production. Trying to be like someone else will not get a person very far, you have your own magic so use that for you and no one else.
