Digitalizing Machine Hour Reporting System Without The Need to Install Sensor Devices
A correct machine utilization analysis starts from a complete machine hour reporting operation and a clear differentiation between the production run time (or manufacturing order run time), which is utilized specifically for producing sales parts to increase the company’s revenue, and the run/stops time for other activities at the machine.
?
Some sensor-device-added solutions are used to educate customers to enjoy the fashion of automation they bring, but they can tell the machine time as run time and stop time only, which makes them mistakenly use the sensor-detected amount of machine run time to calculate the machine’s utilization rate. The machine utilization rate analyzed with such automatic solutions is overestimated and misleads the companies to be complacent. It’s hard to believe that a company would/should feel satisfied with a nearly 100% daily machine utilization rate, in which effectively the majority of the so-called machine run time is for, for example, adjusting process conditions and observing their results before the true production run gets started.
?
Since some other sensor-device-added solutions provide customers with the option of manually breaking down the detected run time for correct machine utilization analysis as well as stop time for more detailed machine downtime analysis, why don’t we start right with the machine hour reporting as this video below shows without involving the redundant sensor devices?
