NEWS ???

• The Health Level Seven International (HL7) plans to establish a new FHIR Accelerator community for health device interoperability. This community will comprise healthcare providers, clinicians, public agencies, technology developers and people who will utilize interoperable health devices and applications. The community’s main goal is to increase the adoption of FHIR-based interoperability along with boosting innovation. Read More?

• The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe organized the third hearing of its hearing sessions on 21 February. During the hearing, experts discussed the role of digital solutions in transforming healthcare with a focus on AI governance, big data, precision medicine, predictive modeling, health systems’ sustainability and digital health equity. • The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) published a report, ‘Does Healthcare Deliver?’, which focuses on the needs and priorities of patients with chronic diseases via an international survey. According to the report, electronic health records (EHRs) make significant patient data accessible for healthcare providers while electronic appointment systems offer the chance of scheduling appointments without visiting healthcare professionals’ offices. The report suggests the delivery of more accessible digital health technologies, the enhancement of the EHR interoperability and the improvement of digital health literacy among older and less educated populations.
