Traditionally, patients visit your hospital either by walking-in for Doctor's appointments, referrals or through emergencies.
But COVID-19 has structurally changed the way we access care. New digital gateways were emerging, and the patient's adoption of digital care is accelerating.
Digital Front Door is where patients discover and engage online before transacting with your hospital either physically or virtually. It includes Hospital website, Social channels, Patient Mobile App with virtual care etc.
There will be a significant demand shift channelled through the digital front door in the horizon. In the future, digital front door will not just provide access to care, but the entire Patient Journey will happen through it. Digital Front Door is always on & hence significantly improves patient access and engagement.
Digital Front Door is a constellation of technologies and solutions including a system of record, intelligence and engagement. Hospitals which invest early on Digital Front Door and Patient Journey tools are at a significant advantage over peers in terms of patient volume, engagement and outcomes.

4 年I agree that the present face-to-face model of healthcare delivery is ready for a change of direction. Recent months have shown us how digital tools can simplify the traditional doctor’s visit. The door has opened and there will be a flood of new ideas based on these tools. But, we in India cannot forget that the vast majority of our fellow citizens are on the wrong side of the digital divide and don’t have access to this world. They have to be given an entry. Shared resources like low-cost kiosks have to be widely set up. Indeed, properly executed, digital tools can open up access to quality healthcare which was previously denied to the underprivileged and under-resourced. The future is challenging.

4 年As a patient (which we all are), I look forward to a departure from paper all together and portability in a tabular format of my extensive medical history to easily alert medical professionals to any potential threats. In the U.K., doctors send long letters to articulate patient status rather than entering a diagnosis into an app-database with a shortened doctor to doctor and doctor to patient access. Okay, I’ll shut up. ??
