Digital University Feature Release Notes Version 2.12 & 2.14

In this section of the release notes, we have decided to combine the last two releases due to the size of the releases. Release 2.12 was a larger release because of the MVP release of DU Create. We will have a full write-up of DU Create very shortly but in the meantime, we have listed a brief overview below. Release 2.14 was smaller in the number of features that were released but still had a significant impact on the platform. The latest releases focused on better quality of life for the user in the form of additional support for registration, curriculum updates in the admin portal, license management, and updated reporting metrics for admin users. Of course, we close out the release with minor bug fixes and an update to the DevSecOps.

Registration:

  • Added support for additional DoD Organizations
  • Added support for users to join Digital U Training Groups

Curriculum:

  • Migrated all Force Multiplier Curriculum Management to Admin Portal
  • Admins can: Create new plans, add courses & knowledge checks to plans, add Customer Curated marketing pages
  • Plan State Management: Plans can now exist in a “Draft” state and a “Published” State. Published plans can have multiple versions and different users can have separate copies of the plans while learning.

DU Create (MVP Release!):

  • Full support for select organizations to create, edit and facilitate training through Digital University
  • Customers with Create permissions can:

-Create new courses with Text based lessons, embedded video streaming lessons (IE, Vimeo), and quizzes / knowledge checks.

-Create full exams with short answer questions, multiple choice questions and multiple answer questions.

- Custom Content can be published and added to training plans for learners to access in Digital U Student Portal.

-Content Creators / Admins can view user progress, grade exams & quizzes

  • Capability for DU Product Team Admins to create custom courses from partner sites like Udemy, Cloud Academy directly in the Admin Portal

Reporting:

  • OpenSearch: Logging all KeyCloak Login Events
  • OpenSearch: Storing users CAC Card ID to Digital U User Profile
  • Pagination introduced in Digital U reporting dashboards for improved performance
  • We now track a metric of users that have a CAC card associated with their account (in Admin — Manage Users)
  • You can now see what courses a user has assigned in manage users. Also upgraded the UI component to use the Carbon UI Data Table

License Management:

  • New admin capabilities for monitoring which licenses users have and what organizations they are getting those licenses from

Bugs:

  • Fixed issue with users not getting training plans added to them when they get added to a learning Cohorts
  • Fixed issue with smaller screen sizes not seeing the header in Admin Portal.

DevSecOps:

  • Update Admin & Student portals to Node 16.15.1

What's Next?

Stay tuned for the next release 2.15 which will be released very soon. The next release will have a heavy emphasis on the administrative portal and a few smaller quality of life changes to the student portal.

Can you define "additional DoD organizations" is this open to other services now?
