The Prince’s Trust ‘Decoding The Digital Skills Gap’ Report Shows Reality of Digital Skills Crisis
The ‘Decoding The Digital Skills Gap’ report was published recently which showed the current state of the digital skills gap in the UK. Whilst the need for essential digital capabilities in many jobs has risen tenfold, the amount of individuals needed to fill those roles are slower to catch up.?
The report, published by The Prince’s Trust in collaboration with Solutions Research and 高知特 Cognizant , highlights the attitudes of young people towards digital skills and roles and their aspirations.?
Here are some key statistics from the report:?
It is clear from this research that young people aren’t feeling confident when it comes to training for digitally-focused jobs and, in some cases, aren’t getting the right support to do so. At the DigitalTrust?? Collective, we provide learning tools for individuals to start their journey into any tech career by training in the absolute foundation-digital trust.?

Uber Fined €290 million by Dutch Data Protection Authority?
A few weeks ago, car service giant Uber was fined a whopping sum by Dutch and French regulators for failing to protect the identity of its European drivers when sending data outside of Europe.?

The data that was being improperly transferred and potentially vulnerable to threats included account details, taxi licences, location data, photos, payment details, identity documents, and in some cases even criminal and medical data of drivers. Uber has refuted these charges and claims it was acting ‘within GDPR guidelines’ at all times.?
However, this isn’t the first time Uber has been hit with data compliance issues. Last year, the company was also fined €10 million for several breaches of GDPR.?
With this recent news, Uber’s consumer trust is sure to take a hit. This is a clear example of where a digital trust professional should be involved, to ensure organisations are continuously complying with data protection laws and regulations.?
