UK Gov Unveils New Plans For NHS Digital Patient Records
The UK government has revealed a new strategy to keep all NHS patient records in one digital place, called a ‘patient passport.’?
This will also allow all NHS trusts across the country to access records in efforts to speed up patient care times and avoid medication errors.?
Whilst the idea may streamline operations for the health service, many have expressed concern over privacy breaches and the high potential of patient records becoming a target for hackers.?
Healthcare data is one of the most precious sets of private information there is, so it is crucial that ministers prioritise security when setting up the new patient passport system.?

National Cyber Security Centre Says That ‘Nationally Significant’ Cyberattacks In The UK Are Rising
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has revealed that the UK is under significant threat from cyberattacks.?
Richard Horne , the new Chief Executive of the NCSC, said: “The threat landscape is growing more complex, with significant incidents on the rise. We need coordinated global efforts to strengthen cyber resilience, ensure security is built into technology from the outset, and prepare both the public and private sectors to not only defend but also recover swiftly from destructive cyber attacks.”
