Almost A Third of UK Public Service IT Professionals Are Worried About AI?
A recent report from SolarWinds highlights the main concerns of IT professionals about AI adoption and implementation in governmental and public sector organisations.?
48% of the survey respondents have concerns over data privacy, whilst algorithmic transparency and regulatory compliance were also common concerns.?
Cybersecurity remains a pressing issue for public sector IT managers, with budget constraints being the main barrier to improved IT security.?
Despite most businesses now prioritising cybersecurity and digital transformation, only 6% of organisations have designed and implemented effective digital transformation and cybersecurity strategies.?
Due to full AI adoption still being in its infancy, complete trust in the advanced tech is still low, calling for more organisations to employ and encourage digital trust strategies. As a Digital Trust Professional member, you are on your way to being exactly what businesses need in the future. Sign up today and begin your digital trust career.??
Apple Removes Data Protection Feature In The UK
Tech giant Apple has removed end-to-end encryption for cloud data in Britain in response to government demands to access user data.?
The unprecedented move will affect their Advanced Data Protection (ADP) feature which is responsible for encrypting a wide range of cloud data, including copies of iMessages.?
This means that Apple will now have access to this data and will be liable to hand any of it over if requested by the government.?
Professor Oli Buckley, a professor in cybersecurity at Loughborough University said: "Ultimately, once a back door to into encrypted services exists, it's only a matter of time before it's found and used maliciously. Removing ADP is not just a symbolic concession but a practical weakening of iCloud security for UK users."?
This will only affect new UK-based Apple customers, however, the decision poses even more risk to consumers in the light of rising data breaches and hacking incidents.?
