Digital Transformation - Why Enable

How often do we look at change in industry or business landscape- and state - "I'm so glad this is happening but I'm good or Not for me". We think of countless reasons why a trend or solution is not right for you.

I recently read an article in Virtual-Strategy on "How Businesses Can Enable Digital Transformation" and was very inspired about why it is important to enable.

You may ask - What is digital transformation? The article defines it as "use of technologies that empower all employees to improve business performance, transparency, efficiency, speed and agility." Businesses adopt these tools for growth, cost reduction, and to solve problems.

According to the article, the author mentioned looking at six features in a tool that promises digital transformation. In my opinion, all are critical depending on the industry but the one that stood out is "Integration of Technologies". Often times, there is a tool that solves problem A, another tool that solves problem B, etc. Having tools that can integrate is key if you want to increase productivity and eliminate unnecessary waste in your process. Think about how you feel when you have to login to multiple systems to do different tasks - For me, I feel frustrated and it wastes my time.

So, why invest in these tools - It is quite simple - If you want your organization to stay competitive in the marketplace and solve migraine problems for your customers - you need to look at tools that can help you and your employees work faster and smarter.

If you don't change - you may become like Nokia. Their CEO ended the speech saying “we didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”
