DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION – TECHNOLOGY AS A FRONTIER FOR REDEFINING OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

The progressive shift from analog to an all things digital system of operations is considered to be one of the more defining hallmarks of 21st-century industrialization and ‘technovation.’ Virtually every analog device, from CRT TVs to clocks, to car systems, etc. now has a digitally derived variant.

By providing an operational edge to overcoming barriers that limit operational efficiency, digital technologies set the tone for a transformative process that cultivates added value for every party implicated in the functioning of an organization.

That being said, in the IT sector (and in virtually every other field of endeavor) the operational boost prospered by digital technologies must be matched by a correspondent shift in the corporate cultural environment for digital transformation to thrive. This is because much like traditional factors of production, digital technologies must be manipulated and exploited by human effort before they can propagate digital transformation.
