Digital Transformation: A “Need” and not an “option”
Digital is all comprehensive and enables not only customer engagement but also operational efficiency, employee engagement, and new business models. Thus I strongly believe that digital transformation is no longer an option but a necessity for every organization.
In order to make the most out of their digital investments, enterprises, today, have to look at business priorities first and then focus on the technology. Digital transformation is now at the core element of the business strategy of an organization rather than just a part of it.
Organizations must learn to embrace Digital technologies that can add real value to their businesses. This gives them ample opportunity to innovate and increase their revenue streams. I believe in implementing an “outside-in” approach, wherein the solutions are built from end-user’s view point. This helps organizations to achieve the goal of enhanced customer experience. A good example of this is our collaboration with Meander Medical Center in Netherlands, where we worked with nearly 1000 nurses for developing and designing a mobile app for the nurses that reduced medical errors and increased the security for the patient data. Our consultants spent days observing and shadowing the nurses to understand their user behavior and ensured that the app design incorporated those features.
However, while enterprises are running digital initiatives at varying levels of scale and maturity they often run into challenges. An Everest group research, suggests that more than 40% of the enterprises are currently facing roadblocks in scaling and reaping benefits from their digital initiatives thus coming across a phenomena called the “Digital Dip.” An organization’s inability to deal with this digital dip not only leads to failed implementations of their digital initiatives but also an unsuccessful digital transformation. As of now only a third of these organizations have been able to move beyond these challenges.
Last week I was a guest on a webinar titled “Beware of Digital Dip” where I shared my perspectives on the methodologies that organizations have adopted to overcome this digital dip You can click here to listen to the replay of the webinar. As always looking forward to hearing your perspectives on this topic.

8 年Agree, But always take your business as the starting point, and not the bandwagon
Thanks for sharing the reasons why employers should remember that digitalisation is a core element of every organisation's business strategy. With more and more family-owned traditional companies facing challenges in implementing a digital transformation, it is important to improve the draft of the action plan of the digital strategy right at the start.

8 年Great Article here , raman Sapra ! I strongly believe that every organization should start with a mindset that the era of Digital is not the next Big Thing..It is the thing of today and the road to profits in tomorrow.. Starting from an end user app to the massive infrastructure, every aspect of IT and the core business dependency is turning digital. Recently , an Automobile giant took a step forward to manage its collaboration with Microsoft O365. Another Big study of Digital is the fact that US made its data available over API and Datasets to let citizen explore the level of digitalization. With more Data on the globe, the Analysis is moving to the cloud too. From ordering a pen to conduct an operation over internet, that's how digitalization has changed. Let alone any company, if they don't adopt it now..years from now they would feel the way how a mobile organization CEO felt when the organization was torn down - " if only we did the right thing at the right moment " Be it any sector, Supply Chain, Logistics, Banking, Human resources, Agriculture; we would find the products of Digital applications everywhere. So, indeed it is a Need and Not an Option !!!!
