Implementation & Change Management

Even though implementation is a whole broad topic I am giving emphasis of change management here

?

·??Visionary leadership?is vital for transformation projects

·??Successful implementation is all about stakeholder management & change management

·??Success of change management depends on what factors most influence transformation initiatives

·??Get sign-off on process mapping, technology landscape strategy, role mapping, data migration strategy, interface and support documents

·??Product/Project change management - Even if the scope is well defined still during implementation there will be additional requirements or expectation mis-match in requirements.

·??Log the changes or additional requirements during implementation.

·??Classify the changes into right categories.

·??Discuss with customer’s project manager and SME to conclude on the change request (CR).

·??Make sure scope deviation is well documented

·??Discuss with internal product team to ensure that these changes can be done. If so get the cost and timeline for that

·??Discuss with customer project manager on the additional CR cost and timeline impact & additional change management

·??It is extremely important that business, IT leadership and procurement team are also aware of these changes

·??In cases of conflict ensure that right level of leadership from both companies gets involved

·??Industry Best Practices – Team of implementation manager, Subject Matter Expert and Change Manager need to work together to ensure that industry best practices are utilized to the maximum rather than building additional customization to the product

·??Organization change management - Managing the people side of change within an organization. The main issue with this is legacy culture, fear of loss of control and unknown, lack of involvement. ?If encountering major challenges or resistance from end users, involve customer’s project manager and SME to get a resolution. If still not getting resolved inform leadership team on the change management issues

·??Right communication at right time is extremely important in implementation and change management

Conclusion: Successful change management start with the planning of digital transformation especially the scope finalization and involvement of right stakeholder with flawless communication strategy. Product change management and Organization change management are always key to the success of any implementation.
