Generative AI

44% of the labor force affected by AI in 3 years

(Dr. STORM) Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak forecasts that 44% of the labor force will be affected by AI in the near term, with the economic ripple effect speculated to be around 4.1T dollars.

important points:

  • The estimate shows a considerable increase in AI integration across industries and represents a significant step forward from the current impact of AI, which is estimated to be worth 2.1 trillion dollars and affect 25% of labor.
  • The utilisation of generative AI has been emphasised as a crucial element in expanding the automation spectrum, as the decreased input costs stimulate expansion in numerous sectors.
  • Software firms stand to gain 5% of the projected $4.1T inflow, translating into a 205 billion dollar addressable market over the next three years.
  • Additionally, if the forecast is correct, there would be a $150 billion market for AI companies that provide enterprise products. At AITR, we have also observed a trend toward enterprise use cases.

AI will have an immediate impact on the labor force, whether we like it or not. In order to not only survive but also thrive in this rapidly evolving environment, it is up to us to educate and best position ourselves for the impending technological shift.

How to invest in the AI revolution???

(Dr. STORM)1 Here are a few options (from most risky to least):

  • Make individual stock investments. Although it carries a higher risk, this choice may also yield greater rewards. Investing in individual stocks is akin to placing a wager on the prospective prosperity of a specific company. Among the best AI stocks are Helix Energy Solutions Group, Symbotic, and Nvidia. Checking out some of the more recent names might also be advisable, as they have all increased by more than 200% this year.
  • Invest in ETFs or mutual funds. This alternative is less hazardous than buying individual stocks. Professional investors manage stock baskets in mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This implies that you can spread your risk over several companies and eliminate the need to select individual stocks.
  • Invest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) with a technology concentration. Stock exchange-traded mutual funds, or ETFs, are one kind of fund. ETFs are a great way to invest in a specific market niche, like technology. The reason for this is that exchange-traded funds (ETFs) follow an index, like the NASDAQ 100, which is made up of the top 100 non-financial companies listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

Investigate your options and be aware of the risks before making a technological investment. Prices in the technology sector are prone to large fluctuations. Nonetheless, investing in technology can be lucrative if you're ready to take some risks, and many people think this industry will continue to generate returns, as it has this year. Top technology exchange-traded funds (ETFs) include the following:

  • ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK)
  • Vanguard Information Technology ETF (VGT)
  • iShares Core Technology ETF (IYW)
  • SPDR Technology ETF (XLK)

These ETFs make investments in a range of technology firms, such as those that make hardware, software, and telecommunications. They provide exposure to the technology industry without requiring the selection of specific stocks. A technology ETF selection should take your investing objectives and risk tolerance into account. One more aggressive ETF that makes investments in disruptive innovation companies is called ARKK. VGT is an ETF that focuses on large-cap technology companies and is considered more conservative. Technology ETFs with mid-capacity are IYW and XLK. It's also crucial to take the ETF's fees into account. The expense ratios of VGT, IYW, and XLK are all 0.15%, whereas ARKK's is 0.75%. The percentage of your investment that the ETF provider deducts annually is known as the expense ratio. Maybe watch video for some motivation.

Apple intends to hire AI personnel in UK

(Dr. STORM) In contrast to the recent trend of layoffs in the tech industry, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced plans to increase the number of UK-based employees with a focus on artificial intelligence.

  • Apple's AI hiring stands in stark contrast to the industry-wide layoffs that tech companies, including Amazon, Meta, and Google, have been leading.
  • As a "last resort," Cook views layoffs, highlighting Apple's emphasis on investing in AI talent.
  • With Amazon investing up to $4 billion in the AI company Anthropic, a number of tech behemoths have poured billions of dollars into the development of AI.
  • Leaders in the UK government and business community are upbeat about the nation's chances of emerging as an AI superpower.

Why it matters: Although Apple hasn't mentioned artificial intelligence much in their product announcements this year, they are still very much in the running. This improvement demonstrates Apple's dedication to growing its AI workforce.

Putting together AI-powered business teams in 5 easy steps

(Dr. STORM) Creating a team with AI expertise is no longer the stuff of science fiction films. According to a study , 93% of companies plan to invest more in AI. This helpful guide from TechCruch will get you started if you're looking to create AI-driven business teams at your company:

  1. Clarity is key: It's critical to formulate a clear understanding of the purposes and objectives for AI. At this point, breaking down tasks into smaller components is crucial to increasing accuracy.
  2. Description of role: Giving AI a clear task, like that of an AI-powered administrative assistant, helps it generate more precise and pertinent results.
  3. Task division: In order to fully utilize AI's potential, tasks ought to be divided into smaller, more manageable chunks, with each task having a clear and distinct purpose.
  4. Use AI for research: By gathering and analyzing data quickly, AI can significantly cut down on the time and cost associated with research.
  5. Finding the right balance between automation and human intervention is essential for achieving optimal results, even though artificial intelligence is capable of a vast array of tasks.

Nearly half of CEOs think AI should replace them

(Dr. STORM) A new survey of over 1,500 executives and knowledge workers found that 49% of CEOs believe AI could AND should take over most or all of their responsibilities.

Key points:

  • CEOs believed AI would free up more time for employee development, leadership, and innovation, according to a poll conducted by education platform EdX.
  • According to experts, regular CEO duties like contracts and evaluations could soon be automated, but replication of strategic thinking is still a ways off.
  • Additionally, 79% of executives fear that if they don't learn how to use AI, they'll fall behind.

My opinion: Even senior executives can see that AI is writing itself on the wall; if you can't work with AI, someone else will replace you. Even though IQ might not be as important in the future, genuine leadership, inventiveness, and critical thinking will be difficult for AI to imitate.

The point I liked best is:: "49% of CEOs believe AI could AND should take over most or all of their responsibilities." Doesn't this perfectly illustrate how much we overestimate certain roles? However, we should appreciate the CEO's self-awareness!
