Strategies Behind the Storytelling of a Sports Brand
Leading the communications efforts of an organization means I need to keep my eyes open to all things happening in the sports event, branding content and digital marketing spaces. Fortunately there is tons of information available. Here’s what I found this week to stay informed:
Website: LA24.org -- In case you hadn’t heard, the city of Los Angeles has put in a bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympic games. The host committee last week unveiled their logo and brand slogan ‘Follow the Sun’ and launched their new state-of-the-art website. Stunning! The images and the colors jump off the page. The website navigation was easy and fun. And the site is full of information. Sign up for regular updates.
Sports blog: SportTechie.com -- Bookmark this website if you have any interest in what the sports industry is doing in the digital space. I have known about the site for awhile, but they came up in a recent search, and I learned about the hiring of a new Chief Digital Officer at Nike. SportsTechie does a great job of highlighting teams and leagues whenever there is a new and successful digital initiative. It’s quite interesting seeing the creativity behind some of the ideas that are working to engage fans.
Conference: Digital Strategy Innovation Summit, March 10-11, 2016, New York. Two days of industry highlights and trends presented by top digital thought leaders, plus networking with digital and marketing professionals, plus access to online presentations on demand post-summit. I will be there, and I will be live blogging. Follow #DigiStrat if you can’t make it.
